Remember those old golf videos of Tiger Woods as a toddler, showing the incredible potential he had even as a wee little one? Yeah, well, meet Bennett Sheldon, the one-year-old with a sweeter golf stroke than many adults.

Bennett even has his own Instagram, YouTube and Facebook accounts, all of which state, “I’m not even two, but my swing is a 10.”

Lil bro isn’t kidding.

Bennett has even already made an appearance on TV with a feature on the local news down in Houston.

Sheldon’s mother said he has been golfing since he could walk. She adds that Bennett’s father, Wes Sheldon, is a former pro at River Oaks.

Wes knew Bennett was special.

“We started noticing early on,” Wes Sheldon said. “Wherever we’re at, whether we’re at a restaurant, he wants to carry a club with him.

Yes, life is good for Bennett, however he has run into one issue with all the golfing he does. He can’t find any golf gloves in his size so he’s had to deal with blisters. Apparently there aren’t a lot of manufacturers trying to corner the one-year-old kid golf market. Go figure.

Tania, a professional golfer from New Zealand, has some impressive golf trick shots in her repertoire.

Miss Tare combined her love of beer pong and her golf trick shots to make some fantastic videos.

I’ve never been face to face with a wild black bear like this. I’ve seen them a handful of times in the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York but it’s always been from afar. These golfers might’ve dookied in their pantaloons when the bear showed up but they should feel grateful for having the encounter.

It all went down at Moose Run Creek Golf Course which is located on the outskirts of Anchorage, Alaska. The wild black bear showed up out of nowhere, tried to steal the golf flag from the hole these bros were playing on. Afterward, the animal went full Yogi Bear mode and caught the scent of a sandwich inside of the golfer’s bag. That’s when the large black bear went for the golf bag. It was also around this time that the golfers began to become pretty concerned with what was unfolding in front of them.

Black bears aren’t nearly as large as their grizzly bear brethren, but they are still pretty f’n large. Running into a fully grown black bear in the wild, a HUNGRY bear no less, that can be a pretty jarring experience. These bros did what they’ve been told to do when a big ass black bear shows up: try and make yourself as big as possible and make a lot of noise. The bear eventually got the point and hauled ass out of there.

According to Grind TV, the golf course is located on the U.S. Army and Air Force bases of Elmendorf and Fort Richardson. Those bases are surrounded by unbridled wilderness, which in Alaska means 100% bear country.

Black bears don’t go out of their way to attack humans but it’s not unheard of for them to become confrontational. Just a few days ago we saw this footage of a black bear attacking a bow hunter. The bear came at the hunter and knocked him to the ground in a full out sprint before taking off. And the hunter captured the entire ordeal using a GoPro on his head.

A few weeks ago, we posted a video from PGA Tour member Wesley Bryan’s practice round at Erin Hills, the site of this year’s U.S. Open. In the video, Bryan showed us how truly brutal the rough was looking. Turns out, the USGA decided to keep that rough as penal as ever for the U.S. Open and Kevin Na is not too thrilled about it.

Na has a point here, that rough is pure insanity. But the U.S. Open has always rewarded fairways and greens and the USGA has always had a boner for the winning score to be right around par. So while it will be a bloodbath for guys who are hitting it crooked, the course might be ideal for players coming into the week in top form. And if the USGA wants the winner to be someone who can keep it in the short grass, then Erin Hills might be set up perfectly. I guess we’ll all see what happens come Thursday.

PGA golfer Paul Casey enters the 2017 U.S. Open as an underdog. Las Vegas has him at 50/1 odds of winning the tournament, with Dustin Johnson the favorite at 29/4 and Jordan Speith not far behind at 9/1 odds. But Paul Casey has something that Jordan Speith does not, he has his wife with him on the golf course this week.

Paul’s wife Pollyanna Woodward might not physically be there step-for-step with Paul Casey as he competes in the 2017 U.S. Open at Erin Hills, but Paul has his gorgeous wife printed on his iPhone case so she’s never outside of his pocket:

The U.S. Open at Erin Hills wrapped up yesterday afternoon. When the last putt was sunk on 18, Florida State University alumni Brooks Koepka was crowned champion and held the U.S. Open Championship Trophy high in the sky. Brooks fired off a 5-under final round of 67 to hold off any challengers, and in doing so he managed to take home the single largest payday in the history of golf.

In 1960, Arnold Palmer won his first U.S Open at Cherry Hills Country Club and took home $14,400 for his win. Two years later, Jack Nicklaus won his first U.S. Open and pocketed $17,500 for winning at Oakmont. When Tiger Woods won his first U.S. Open Championship back in 2000 at Pebble Beach he took home $800,000 for first place.

Brooks Koepka? Yesterday, Brooks Koepka took home an astounding $2,160,000 for winning the first U.S. Open at Erin Hills. When Dustin Johnson won the U.S. Open last year at Oakmont his winning share of the prize pool was $1.8 million (same for Jordan Spieth in 2015). In one year that winner’s shared jumped by $360,000, and Brooks Koepka can lay claim to the single largest payday in golf history. How’d Brooks celebrate his $2.16 million day?

Lost in the shuffle of Brooks Koepka’s U.S. Open win was Fox Sports commentator Joe Buck making a total ass out of himself while Brooks was celebrating. Joe mixed up the names of Brooks’ current and ex-girlfriends, calling the woman Brooks was with by his ex-girlfriend’s name:

Will Joe Buck or Fox Sports publicly apologize to Brooks Koepka or his girlfriend? No chance. Will Joe Buck be back in the booth for next year’s U.S. Open to make an ass out of himself again? Absolutely.

Around 100 years ago in internet time (2012) I said that actress Jena Sims was “one to watch” and at the time, our new favorite actress. Little did I know that her most recognizable role since then would be as new US Open champion Brooks Koepka’s girlfriend. Not that Joe Buck knew it as he said live on the air that Koepka’s girlfriend is pro soccer player Becky Edwards (his ex) before being corrected by Brad Faxon.

No, it is not. Good one, Joe, you dope.

That would be, as Faxon pointed out, Jena Sims…this woman…

So not only did Brooks Koepka tie a US Open record by finishing 16 under for the tournament to capture his first major, he’s also dating a beautiful actress. Not a bad life if you can get it.

As for Jena Sims, the 28-year-old former Miss Georgia Teen USA is famous enough to have her own Wikipedia page (the true sign of having made it), where we learn that she is very much into charity work. She even runs her own non-profit organization called “Pageant of Hope” that hosts beauty pageants for children with cancer and other disadvantages. Nice.

Also, I highly recommend you check Sims out in the film Attack of the 50 Foot Cheerleader. She killed it in that flick. Literally.

Now, I’m not one of them tight asses who abides by every unwritten rule in golf because of some deluded sense of ‘respect for the game.’ I never finished a round without needing a sober ride home. I put my club down in the sand trap. I piss in the woods. I drop balls when no one in my foursome is looking. I shave off strokes my score. I smoke so many cigarettes on the course John Daly would be disgusted. I’m a categorical nightmare on the course and respect the game about as much as Mel Gibson respects Hanukkah.

With that said, what Trump did here is unforgivable. Driving your cart on the green is like taking a dump in the hole. You’d think for a man who owns and operates 17 golf courses around the world and has been golfing at least 24 times since becoming President, he’d know that this is shameful. So shameful I kind of respect it.

P.S. RIP Chubbs. Gone but not forgotten.

You know how we reported on Tuesday that it is so hot in Arizona that planes can’t even take off? Temperatures down there have hit the 120s in some places. How people can live in a place that gets so hot is a mystery to me, but it’s the home of our favorite golfer on the planet, Paige Spiranac and she seems to be handling it quite well.

Now, I have spent a decent amount of time in Arizona and let me tell you, that heat is no joke. There’s a reason so many people own pools down there. Problem is, sometimes it’s so hot that even taking a dip in the pool doesn’t cool you off.

That apparently isn’t a concern for Spiranac, however, as she celebrated the first official day of summer with this photo and caption, “Happy first day of summer!☀️ It’s only 117 degrees here in AZ…but it’s a dry heat.”

It’s a dry heat…that’s what everyone down there says. Dry or not, 120 is 120, so hard pass on visiting that state any time in the near future.

Instead I think I will just sit here in the comfort of my cool office and live vicariously through Spiranac’s Arizona adventures. Join me, won’t you? It has been since Christmas since we last checked in on her, after all.

Actress Jena Sims made quite a splash on to the national scene thanks to Joe Buck completely flubbing identifying her after her boyfriend Brooks Koepka won the 2017 US Open. We had already done several posts on her in the past so maybe Buck should be reading BroBible, huh? Anyway, as you can see from the photos above and below, none of that mattered anyway because the two of them had a great time enjoying Koepka’s big win.

Koepka later continued the party on the jet out of Wisconsin with a few beers and headed out with Sims and a few friends for the only proper place to celebrate winning a PGA major: Las Vegas.

If you haven’t seen Sims in any movies yet, I highly recommend Attack of the 50 Foot Cheerleader. Either that or just wait for one of the three movies she has coming out between now and the end of 2018: Sharknado 5: Global Swarming, The Price for Silence or Minutes to Midnight. I’m sure they’ll all be winners just like she and Koepka are.

Well, Phil Mickelson’s approach to parenting is the exact opposite of that. Mickelson has missed his fair share of family moments — the nature of being a PGA Tour pro — but he still always tries to show up for major events. He proved this by skipping this year’s U.S. Open to attend his daughter’s high school graduation.

This week, Mickelson explained his decision to skip the U.S. Open — the only major that has escaped his grasp — on Mike & Mike and it’s the most simple parenting advice anyone could give. Lefty said, “You just show up. You just show up for people.”

Of course there is a lot more to being a good parent than just showing up, but there are some moments in a child’s life where showing up is the most important part of being a good parent on that specific day. For Mickelson he thought that this was one of them. You can’t blame him for that.

John Daly is one of the most beloved sports figures in the entire world. Fans adore him for brash style, honesty, and down-to-Earth personality. Daly connected with his fans on Twitter with an impromptu Q&A session on Sunday and it was classic John Daly to say the least.

Important questions were asked such as Daly’s preferred breastaurant Hooters or Twin Peaks, ribs or steak, his favorite beer and cigarettes, his favorite divorce, and President Donald Trump or former President Barack Obama. Daly’s answers did not disappoint in sheer entertainment value.

Daly was asked if he thought Tiger Woods would ever win again and he said, “yes –don’t count him out we all have hurdles.”

Bill Murray and his brothers are opening a “Caddyshack” restaurant near their hometown in Illinois. The Murrays will be opening the golf-themed restaurant in the village of Rosemont, which is just outside of Chicago, and adjacent to O’Hare Airport, a stones-throw away from where they grew up. The restaurant is slated to open in December, so Bill Murray’s got that going for him, which is nice.

The legendary comedic actor and his five brothers (Andy, Brian Doyle, Ed, Johnny, and Joel) opened a “Caddyshack” restaurant at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, FL, back in 2001. The eatery has a fun golf-themed menu that includes fare such as Crispy Potato Golf Balls, Spaulding’s Hack Salad, Double Bogey Cheeseburger, and a Caddyshake. The new spot in the windy city will feature some Chicago favorites such as an Italian beef sandwich and a Chicago-style hot dog. No word on whether roast gopher sandwiches will be on the menu. The restaurant will also feature a golf simulation experience area.

“We are extremely excited to have Murray Bros. Caddyshack be the signature restaurant in our hotel,” said David Friedman, manager of Crowne Plaza. “Bill Murray has done so much to represent Chicago, its pride and the friendliness that Chicagoans are famous for. It’s only fitting that the Chicago area gets its own Caddyshack.”

“In planning for Murray Bros. Caddyshack, we wanted to create a restaurant that captures our family’s love for the game and present it in a way that appeals to everyday golfers and families,” Bill’s brother Andy Murray said in a statement. “Golf is evolving from its exclusionary practices in favor of a more open and fun-loving attitude, which can be seen in everything from today’s hip golf fashion to more eclectic golf fans and unique venues at golf tournaments. I’m glad the rest of the world is catching up.”

The classic comedy movie “Caddyshack” was co-written by Bill’s older brother Brian Doyle-Murray, who worked as a caddy at Indian Hill Club in Winnetka, Illinois. And it, of course, starred Bill Murray as Carl Spackler, the greenskeeper who wages an all-out war against a gopher. Hopefully, the “Caddyshack” restaurant will have Bill Murray bartending (AKA downing a ton of shots) like he did so for his brother’s bar in Brooklyn.

After watching these ruthless hit and runs, I’m sure a jury would understand.
